Waterproof vs. Water Resistant
Please notice, though, that “waterproof” cover or case is kind of a general category. Some covers and cases truly are waterproof and can even protect your Kindle from water damage if submerged (briefly, I hope!) under water.

This fitted case for the Kindle gets very good reviews, but even better, some of the folks giving the best reviews actually had an issue or two with installing the cover but were blown away by the fantastic customer support the company provided.

The Proporta case is waterproof, down to about 15 feet, although I don’t recommend testing their claim! Easy access to the buttons on your Kindle eReader while in this case is one of the highlights that makes this one stand out.
There is a detachable neck cord, and, like others, will protect your Kindle from dust and sand too.
TrendyDigital – Kindle, Waterproof, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Generation, Colors
TrendyDigital has upgraded their waterproof Kindle cover over the years and now offer a very nice product that will work with first, second and third generation Kindle’s and offer it in multiple colors as well.
TrendyDigital goes a step further than other covers and cases by offering a lanyard you can slip around your neck to help prevent the device from being accidentally dropped and damaged.
To top it off, the TrendyDigital waterproof Kindle cover is one of the least expensive protective case you can buy for your e-reader.
Most reviewers give this product good marks; just make sure you filter out the reviews that are obviously NOT for this product (we all make mistakes!) or from reviewers expecting miracles from a $15 product.
